Automotive Electrical Technician
Position Overview
Support ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) development by installing and maintaining instrumentation equipment on test vehicles. This role enables accurate data collection to support system validation, calibration, and performance analysis across real-world and proving ground environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and integrate data acquisition systems (DAQ), sensors, cameras, GPS, and vehicle network interfaces (CAN/Ethernet)
- Perform wiring, harness routing, mounting, and electrical integration while maintaining vehicle safety and integrity
- Configure logging systems and verify signal acquisition and data quality
- Conduct pre-test validation checks to ensure instrumentation readiness
- Troubleshoot hardware, signal, and connectivity issues during testing
- Support on-road and track testing activities as needed
- Document instrumentation setups, configurations, and issues
- Maintain and calibrate instrumentation equipment and hardware inventory
Qualifications:
- Associate degree or equivalent experience in Automotive Technology, Electronics, or related field
- Experience with vehicle electrical systems and wiring
- Familiarity with CAN communication and basic data acquisition systems
- Ability to read wiring diagrams and schematics
- Hands-on skills with crimping, soldering, and harness fabrication
