The Lead HVAC Mechanic will oversee a small team of 1-3 members, providing expert troubleshooting, diagnostics, installation, and repairs for residential and commercial HVAC systems. This role demands frequent travel between multiple facilities and requires hands-on leadership in managing HVAC tasks while ensuring safety and quality standards. The position offers clear growth opportunities including advancement to supervisor roles, additional training, and cross-departmental career paths.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and diagnose residential and light commercial HVAC systems
- Install and repair HVAC equipment, including thermostats, TXVs, blowers, compressors, and ductwork
- Perform drain cleaning, evaporator coil pull and cleans, HVAC installations, and maintenance
- Conduct low voltage controls work and light commercial HVAC diagnostics and installs
- Lead and supervise a team of 1-3 HVAC mechanics, ensuring adherence to safety procedures
- Travel frequently to multiple residential and commercial sites
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in HVAC troubleshooting, repair, and installation
- Proficient in HVAC systems, electrical wiring, mechanical repair, and blueprint reading
- Strong knowledge of safety procedures and team leadership skills
- Effective problem-solving and time management abilities
- Experienced with HVAC installs and Housecall Pro (preferred)
- Skilled in HVAC TXV diagnostics and repairs, as well as light commercial HVAC diagnostics and repairs
Preferred Qualifications
- Universal 608 Certification
- EPA Certification
- Journeyman card preferred
