We are seeking a qualified CNC Machinist that can fulfill manufacturing operations based on the requirements below.


POSITION SUMMARY

  • Location: Knightstown, IN
  • Pay: $23-28 + $2 shift differential
  • Shift: 2nd Shift (3PM-1:30AM M-TH)
  • Overtime: 5-10 hours weekly (typically on Friday's)


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Startup and shutdown machining equipment properly each day.
  • Use calipers and tape measures properly to measure parts.
  • Use equipment such as: tap arms, sanders, grinders, overhead cranes, and mag drills.
  • Accurately operate machine with the goal of no scrap parts.
  • Keep an accurate, up-to-date log of notes.
  • Understand jobs, tags, storage, and electronic logging system.
  • Read and interpret most prints.
  • Ability to run any programmed job, correctly inspect the first completed part, and set up the job.
  • Entry-level ability to gather tooling needed for the program.
  • Load programs and tooling into the machinery independently.


DAY TO DAY

  • Operating trim press, sand, drill, file, and/or knife castings and performing quality checks with documentation
  • You'll use simple gages and precision measurement devices + complete visual inspections
  • Move and pack parts + apply proper labelling
  • Minor repairs and troubleshoot their machines
  • Handle basic preventative maintenance activities including lubrication, changing filters, cleaning machines, checking fluid levels, etc.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3 to 5 years of machinery experience required
  • GED or High School diploma preferred
  • Vocational or Trade School preferred
  • Forklift certified required
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Knowledge of tooling, tapes, and drills.
  • Ability to run programmed jobs.
  • Ability to operate forklifts.
  • Calipers, tape measures, and other measuring skills.
  • Knowledge of how to load programs and tooling into machinery.
  • Ability to run the machinery correctly without scrapping parts.
  • Ability to operate forklifts, overhead cranes, or other equipment needed to complete tasks.
  • Progressing towards learning all aspects of machining area including efficient operation of CNC's and ability to complete simple jobs on manual machines without supervision.
