Delaware Multiple Freestanding EDs & Hospital Sites Bayhealth is seeking Board-Certified Emergency Medicine physicians for ongoing (primarily) overnight locum coverage across multiple emergency departments in Delaware, including hospital-based and freestanding EDs.
This is a high-acuity, EPIC-based system with consistent needs and the opportunity to work across multiple sites each week.
Position Details Specialty: Emergency Medicine
Start Date: March / April forward
Need: 2 FTE or approximately shifts per month
Minimum Commitment: 5 shifts per month
Shift Coverage: Monday Sunday (overnights only)
EMR: EPIC
Patient Population: All ages
Shift Times by Location Smyrna Freestanding ED: 7p 7a
Route 9 Freestanding ED (Sussex): 7p 7a
Kent Hospital ED: 9p 7a
Sussex Hospital ED: 9p 7a
Physicians must be comfortable covering all four sites and may work at multiple locations during the same week.
Patient Volume (Approx.) Overnight Support Staff Smyrna & Route 9: Solo physician coverage overnight
Kent: Physician until 1am, APC until 7am
Sussex: Physician until midnight, APC until 4am
Requirements Board Certified Emergency Medicine only (ABEM or AOBEM)
Comfortable with overnight solo coverage
Able to complete charts within 72 hours
Willing to submit availability 3 months in advance
Flu vaccine required (COVID not required)
