Operating within a hospital practice setting, the position features a comprehensive schedule combining 8-hour day shifts (7:00 AM to 4:00 PM with a required 1-hour lunch break Monday through Friday), 15-hour night beeper call (4:00 PM to 7:00 AM), and 24-hour call blocks (7:00 AM to 7:00 AM with a 2-hour gratis period) to provide an average of 3 weeks of total call coverage per month. Day-to-day responsibilities encompass hospital consults, dedicated hospital call, and active Stemi call requirements, alongside an array of special procedures including TEEs, Echo reads, Caths, Cardiac Windows, and Nuclear Testing. The typical patient workload averages approximately 15 consults and 3 procedures per day, and submission guidelines mandate a valid DEA Controlled Substance Registration Certificate.
