- Emergency Department (ED) setting within a hospital environment
- Manages a diverse patient population ranging from minor injuries to life-threatening emergencies
- Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week
- Weekend and holiday coverage required, as the ED operates 24/7
- Travelers may be floated to other departments before core staff when qualified to perform patient careRequirements
- Active RN license in the state of Oregon required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC
- Minimum 3 years of RN experience required
- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
- Strong clinical skills and critical thinking abilities in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, with frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of objects up to 25 lbs
- Must be capable of continuous walking and standing, and working 12-hour shifts in high-stress situationsAdditional Information
- Responsibilities include patient triage, assessment, medication and IV administration, wound care, splinting, and continuous vital sign monitoring
- Responds to rapid response calls and code blue situations
- Documents patient information and treatment plans accurately in the EHR
- Provides patient and family education regarding diagnoses, procedures, and follow-up care
- Works collaboratively with physicians, nurse practitioners, and support staff
- BSN and specialty certifications (e.g., CEN) are preferred but not required
- CRASE training will be required if the assignment extends beyond 6 months
