Position Overview :
A facility in OR is seeking a Board-Certified Hematology/Oncology Physician for a long-term Locum Tenens assignment to support a permanent vacancy. This is a full-time, hospital-based practice role with a consistent outpatient-focused schedule and integrated inpatient support when needed. This role offers structured clinic hours, a collaborative care environment, and a long-term, stable assignment for continuity of care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive hematology and oncology care to established and new patients.
- Manage a full-time clinic schedule: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 8:00 AM 6:00 PM (includes 12 1 PM lunch, pre-charting, and documentation time)
- Oversee patient treatment plans and ongoing oncology care.
- Supervise and collaborate with APPs (NPs/PAs), nursing staff, and infusion teams and provide clinical guidance to APPs and nursing staff regarding treatment parameters
- Respond to treatment reactions in the infusion suite and manage urgent clinical needs until rapid response arrives
- Review and sign chemotherapy orders; collaborate with nursing for administration
- Field patient questions and clinical triage during clinic hours
- Participate in a hospital-based oncology practice requiring full hospital privileges
- Maintain documentation in Epic EMR
