Physician Emergency Medicine (Locum Tenens)

Position Overview:A critical access hospital is seeking a Board-Certified Emergency Medicine Physician for a locum tenens assignment. This role is well-suited for physicians comfortable practicing in a community or rural environment with limited onsite specialty support. Preference is given to candidates available for night shifts.
Schedule & Coverage:Approximately 10 shifts per month
Shift Length: 12 hours
Shift Types: Days, Evenings, Nights (No call required)
September: 13 shifts (6 evening, 7 night)
October & November: 10 shifts/month (mix of day and night shifts)
Practice Setting:Emergency Department in a Critical Access Hospital
Average Daily Volume: patients
Patients per Hour: 2.5 3
Beds: 25
Patient Population: All ages (approximately 14% pediatrics)
EMR: Epic
Responsibilities:Provide comprehensive emergency medical care to patients of all ages
Manage a wide range of acute and emergent conditions
Work independently with limited specialty backup
Coordinate transfers when higher levels of care are required
Complete accurate and timely documentation in the EMR system
Requirements:Board Certification: Emergency Medicine (required)
No Internal Medicine or Family Practice candidates
Licensure: Active state medical license (required)
Certifications: ACLS (required)
DEA: Required
Experience: Minimum 1 year post-training
Prior experience in rural or critical access settings preferred
