We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic Service Technician to join our team in West Columbia, SC.
In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel equipment, including trucks, construction machinery, and industrial vehicles. The ideal candidate will possess extensive mechanical expertise, strong troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to quality service.
Hours: 7a-5p
Pay: $30-$35 (DOE)
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brake systems, and suspension components using OEM schematics and electronic diagnostic tools.
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators and cranes
- Fabricate parts or modify existing components as needed to ensure optimal equipment performance.
- Repair and service powertrain systems including transmissions and drive axles.
- Execute tire services, brake repairs, wheel alignments, and suspension adjustments to maintain safety standards.
- Interpret technical schematics and OEM manuals to accurately diagnose issues.
- Provide exceptional customer service by explaining repairs clearly and ensuring timely completion of work.
- Maintain detailed service records and adhere to safety protocols at all times.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- 5+ years of proven diesel mechanic experience
- Ability to read schematics accurately and interpret technical manuals effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with attention to detail in diagnostics and repairs.
- Physical ability for heavy lifting and performing manual tasks in diverse environments.
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with team members and providing customer support.
