Job Summary
A leading, family owned company in the mulching, logging, and vegetation management industry is seeking a skilled Welder Fabricator.
This hands on role combines metal fabrication, machining, and mechanical repair to support the build, modification, and maintenance of high demand industrial equipment.
The ideal candidate is a well rounded tradesperson with strong fabrication skills, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work independently in a fast paced shop environment. They take pride in craftsmanship, follow safety protocols, and enjoy solving problems on heavy machinery.
Key Responsibilities
- Fabricate custom parts, attachments, and structural components for heavy equipment
- Perform MIG/TIG/Stick welding and cutting using torch, plasma, and laser tools
- Modify and reinforce frames, brackets, guards, and machine structures
- Interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and technical schematics
- Assist with diesel engine diagnostics, repairs, and routine maintenance
- Repair or replace hydraulic hoses, lines, fittings, and mechanical components
- Collaborate with mechanics and operators to troubleshoot equipment issues
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safety focused work environment
- Support additional shop and equipment repair tasks as needed
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of metal fabrication and welding experience
- Moderate experience with diesel engines, hydraulics, and mechanical systems
- Ability to read fabrication blueprints and mechanical schematics
- Skilled with saws, grinders, torches, welders, and fabrication tools
- Understanding of heavy equipment repair and maintenance
- Self motivated and able to manage projects with minimal supervision
- Valid driver's license; CDL is a plus
