Position SummaryCapital Waste Services is seeking a Class A CDL Driver to operate a tractor-trailer (semi-truck) for the transportation of waste and recyclable materials. This role is responsible for safely hauling, transporting, and delivering materials between transfer stations, landfills, and other designated locations while maintaining strict compliance with DOT regulations and company safety standards.This position requires a strong safety mindset, experience with tractor-trailer operation, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, safety-sensitive environment. Key ResponsibilitiesTractor-Trailer OperationSafely operate a Class A tractor-trailer (semi) in compliance with all laws and company policiesTransport waste and recyclable materials to and from landfills, transfer stations, and designated facilitiesSecure loads properly and ensure safe transport at all timesNavigate local and regional routes safely and efficientlyRoute Execution & LogisticsComplete assigned hauls on schedule and communicate delays as neededCoordinate with dispatch and operations for routing and load instructionsMaintain accurate trip logs, scale tickets, and required documentationSafety & ComplianceComply with all DOT and FMCSA regulations, including Hours of Service (HOS) Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report any mechanical issuesFollow all company safety procedures, site rules, and traffic lawsImmediately report accidents, incidents, or safety concernsEquipment & Yard ResponsibilitiesMaintain tractor and trailer in clean, safe working conditionInspect trailer hookups, brakes, lights, and tires before transportAssist with yard operations, trailer spotting, or equipment staging as neededCustomer Service & ProfessionalismRepresent Capital Waste Services professionally at all job sitesCommunicate effectively with dispatch, supervisors, and facility personnelQualificationsRequiredValid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A)Valid DOT Medical CardAcceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and ability to meet insurance requirements Ability to operate a tractor-trailer safely and efficientlyAbility to pass pre-employment drug & alcohol screening and background checkWillingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditionsPreferred1-3+ years of tractor-trailer or roll-off experienceExperience in waste, recycling, or heavy transportationFamiliarity with landfills, transfer stations, or hauling operations Work EnvironmentCombination of driving and outdoor workLocal or regional hauling routesPhysically active role with equipment inspections and occasional manual tasksFast-paced, safety-focused environment Why Join Capital Waste ServicesStable, growing company in the environmental services industryCompetitive pay and benefitsModern fleet and well-maintained equipmentOpportunity for advancement and long-term career growthSafety-first culture with strong operational support Equal Opportunity StatementCapital Waste Services is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
