The HVAC/R Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems in residential and commercial buildings. This role involves working independently and in small teams of 1-3 members, frequently traveling to local job sites. The technician ensures systems operate efficiently and comply with all relevant codes and regulations, while delivering excellent customer service. There are clear opportunities for career advancement into supervisory or senior technician roles.
Responsibilities
- Install and service HVAC/R systems for residential and commercial properties
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on heating and refrigeration equipment
- Troubleshoot system malfunctions and implement effective repairs
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical documents
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and code regulations
- Consult customers to assess system needs and provide solutions
- Operate tools and diagnostic equipment safely and efficiently
- Collaborate in small teams or work independently as required
- Travel frequently to various local job sites
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in HVAC/R
- EPA Section 608 Certification
- HVAC Technician License
- Knowledge of refrigeration and heating systems
- Strong preventive maintenance skills
- Excellent customer service and time management abilities
