We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment & Pump Mechanic to perform maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs on pumps, diesel engines, and heavy equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical skills, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work independently while delivering high-quality service.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on pumps, diesel engines, and heavy equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and determine appropriate repair solutions.
- Disassemble, repair, and reassemble pumps and equipment using hand and power tools.
- Replace worn or damaged components, including seals and related parts.
- Test and inspect equipment after repairs to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturer specifications.
- Maintain accurate service records, including labor hours and parts used.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe.
- Communicate effectively with customers and team members regarding equipment status and repairs.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in pump repair, diesel engine repair, heavy equipment maintenance, or a related field.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for mechanical and electrical systems.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to read technical manuals, take accurate measurements, and complete required documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with Caterpillar equipment, pumps, and pipeline-related machinery.
- Familiarity with diagnostic software such as CAT Electronic Technician (CAT ET) and John Deere Service Advisor.
- Experience rebuilding pumps and hydraulic systems is a plus.
