Practice Details: - Work alongside:
- 2 Pathologists
- 3 Histotechs
- 2 Tech Assistants
- 2 Cytotechnologists
- Average daily volume:
- slides shared among 3 pathologists
- surgical cases per provider daily
- Around 10 cytology cases daily
- Case mix includes:
- GI
- Breast
- Surgical nephrology
- General pathology
- Gyn/Non-gyn cytology
- Minimal hematology
- No Neuro, Pediatrics, or Autopsy cases
- Bone marrow and complex heme-path cases are sent out
- Must be comfortable with:
- Grossing specimens
- FNA/Rapid Interpretation
- Frozen sections
- Schedule follows a 3-day rotation:
- Day 1: Grossing ( cases), frozen sections, overnight call
- Day 2: Read out cases and order IHC/Special stains
- Day 3: Cytology and Bronch suite support
- Grossing averages 3 4 hours every third day
