We areseeking a Board-Certified Interventional Cardiologist for a locum tenensopportunity in Mechanicsville, Virginia. This position offers a combination ofonsite inpatient coverage and STEMI call responsibilities within a busycardiovascular program serving a diverse adult patient population.

- Onsite Coverage: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- Weekday Call: Monday-Friday, 5:00 PM - 7:00 AM
- Weekend Call: Saturday 7:00 AM - Monday 7:00 AM
- Weekend Coverage Required
- Call Coverage Required
ClinicalResponsibilities - Provide inpatient interventional cardiology coverage and consultations.
- Perform diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures.
- Respond to STEMI activations and other emergent cardiovascular conditions.
- Participate in a shared call rotation covering STEMI, unassigned call, and non-invasive cardiology coverage.
- Conduct inpatient rounding as needed.
- Collaborate with hospitalists, emergency medicine physicians, intensivists, and cardiovascular team members to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Complete timely and accurate documentation.

- Approximately 159 STEMI activations were recorded in 2025, with a cancellation rate of approximately 47%.
- Physicians can expect more phone consultations than in-person callbacks.
- Emergent STEMI callbacks occur less than every other day on average.
PatientVolume - Average inpatient admissions: Greater than 2 per physician per day
Qualifications - Board Certified in Interventional Cardiology
- Active Virginia medical license
- Current BLS certification
- Current ACLS certification
- Ability to obtain hospital privileges
- Experience performing complex coronary and peripheral vascular interventions
