Job Description:
Lead engineering changes for the specific engineering site through proficiency of all change related processes to drive initiatives and achieve change team goals and metrics. Own and execute the ECR, working with the subject matter expert (SME) or design engineer to ensure the ECR is defined and executed properly. Coordinate all tasks and activities of the Design Change Process within a cross-functional team (Supply Chain, Sourcing, Quality, etc.) to ensure all changes are properly performed and documented from the beginning of the ECR process through to the end with the ECO in in Approval state. Work closely with the technical leads to properly understanding the background and scope of the change as it relates to the Design Change Process and simplify processes to reduce overall ECR/ECO cycle time. Provide support and coaching to engineers and others on execution activities related to the Design Change Process. Contribute to continuous improvement of the engineering Change Process and use of current skillset to keep defining the role to make it more efficient. Gather from Sourcing inventory information for all suppliers of part affected by the ECR. Gather from Manufacturing inventory of all GEHC plants. Develop the PIPO plan for the ECR working directly with Sourcing and suppliers to establish timing of ECR completion and implementation of ECO. Work with ECO Implementation process manager to ensure buyers are aware of the change and order conversion occurs in a timely manner. Ability to proactively manage cross-functional interdependencies to maximize team efficiency and avoid gaps/delays in mid to long-term execution. Anticipate integration issues and discern appropriate actions to progress the team forward. Connects planning and cross-functional impacts of product NPI, Installed Base, Obsolescence and End-of Life. Travel and work at client sites as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Requires Masters degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (Any), Information Technology, Computer Technology, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems or related field plus one (1) year of experience in the job offered, or related IT or engineering role. Will accept a Bachelors degree plus five (5) years of described experience in lieu of Masters degree plus one (1) year of described experience. Any suitable combination of education, training, or experience is acceptable. Travel and work at client sites as assigned.
