- Conducting thorough admission histories and psychiatric assessments
- Performing physical examinations and rounds
- Diagnosing, treating, and managing a wide range of psychiatric disorders, including:
- Mood disorders
- Psychotic disorders
- Substance-related disorders
- Anxiety disorders
- Cognitive and personality disorders
- Prescribing and managing medications
- Ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies
- Coordinating ongoing care in consultation with supervising psychiatrists
- Facilitating addiction education and management
- Completing administrative duties as necessary
- Providing continuity of care and coordination for patient referralsRequired Qualifications
- Certification: Board Certified required
- Licensing: Iowa state license or eligibility through the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) required
- Experience: Minimum of one year in psychiatry; new graduates are not accepted for this role
