Job Title: CDL Driver (Commercial Driver's License)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused CDL Driver to transport goods efficiently and on time. The ideal candidate will have a strong driving record, excellent time management skills, and a commitment to following all transportation regulations and company policies.
This position requires overnight travel as indicated under Working Conditions below.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate commercial vehicles (e.g., tractor-trailers, box trucks) safely and in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations
- Ensure compliance with DOT regulations by stopping at all required weigh stations
- Transport goods to and from designated locations in a timely manner
- Operate tilt level flatbed truck with chains and tie downs
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries, and inspections
- Ensure cargo is properly loaded, secured, and unloaded
- Load and unload a forklift
- Operate a forklift to remove equipment in and out of buildings
- Load and unload material as needed at job sites and warehouse
- Assist in the unpacking and packing of equipment
- Communicate with dispatchers, customers, and team members professionally
- Report any vehicle issues, accidents, or delays promptly
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company procedures
Requirements:
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) (Class A or B, as required)
- Clean driving record with no major violations in the past 3-5 years
- Forklift certification is a plus
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screening
- Ability to pass random drug screenings
- Proven experience as a CDL driver
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws and safety regulations
- Ability to lift heavy items and perform physical tasks as needed
- Communicate proficiently using the English language
- Possess strong organizational skills
- Experience with electronic logging devices (ELDs)
- Familiarity with regional or long-haul routes
