Position Summary
The Associate Attorney provides legal representation and support in civil litigation and pre-litigation matters, with opportunities to work across family and immigration law. This role requires strong drafting, research, and litigation skills, as well as the ability to manage cases from intake through resolution. The Associate Attorney must be bilingual in English and Spanish and capable of working both independently and as part of a collaborative legal team.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft and review a wide range of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests/responses, and correspondence.
- Propound and respond to discovery, take and defend depositions, and prepare cases for hearings and trial.
- Represent clients in court proceedings, hearings, and trials.
- Conduct thorough legal research and provide well-reasoned analysis and recommendations.
- Manage cases from intake through resolution, ensuring deadlines and court requirements are met.
- Communicate effectively with clients, courts, and opposing counsel in both English and Spanish.
- Collaborate with colleagues on case strategy, knowledge sharing, and workload management.
- Provide high-quality client service with professionalism, discretion, and empathy.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications Education & Experience - Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Licensed and in good standing with the Texas State Bar (or ability to become licensed in Texas).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience practicing law, preferably with a focus on civil litigation and pre-litigation.
- Experience in family law and/or immigration law strongly preferred. Skills & Competencies

- Strong legal research, analysis, and writing skills.
- Excellent drafting ability for motions, briefs, pleadings, and other legal documents.
- Litigation experience, including hearings, depositions, and trial preparation.
- Ability to manage cases independently while balancing multiple priorities.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for client interaction and teamwork.

Working Conditions - Schedule: Monday - Friday
