Job Description: Job Description Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years ICU RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Exceptional opportunity for a skilled Registered Nurse to provide expert care within a 19-bed Neurosurgical Intensive Care Unit. This specialized unit cares for patients experiencing acute stroke, subarachnoid hemorrhage, seizures, and those recovering from neurosurgical procedures requiring advanced monitoring and frequent neurological assessments. The environment integrates routine diagnostic imaging, including CT scans, MRI, and cerebral angiography, providing a dynamic and challenging setting for experienced critical care professionals. Key schedule details:Weekend block: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights Desired experience and qualifications:Active RN license requiredMinimum of one year of Neuro ICU nursing experienceProficient in hemodynamic monitoring techniquesCompetency with invasive intracranial pressure monitoringStrong clinical assessment skills, especially for frequent neuro checksCapable of managing 2-3 critically ill patients per shiftWillingness to float to other ICU or step-down units as neededBLS and ACLS certifications (current) Primary responsibilities:Deliver high-quality care to neurosurgical and neurocritical patientsPerform frequent neurological assessments and timely interventionsCollaborate with interdisciplinary team members for optimal patient outcomesMonitor and interpret invasive pressure data and adjust interventions accordinglyCoordinate and assist with routine imaging studies (CT, MRI, Angio)Document clinical findings and patient progress efficiently and accuratelyFlexibly support related critical care units when necessary This contract position offers the chance to make a real difference in the lives of critically ill neurological patients.
