ATC West Healthcare is seeking a board-certified Emergency Medicine physician for urgent locum coverage beginning in July, with ongoing needs through September. This is a community emergency department setting with moderate patient volumes, strong specialist support, and a collaborative environment that includes APP coverage during peak hours. Emergency credentialing is available due to immediate staffing needs.

- August: Night shift coverage needed on:
- August 10
- August 16
- August 17
- August 24
- August 29
- August 31
- September: Approximately 8 additional shifts anticipated (primarily nights)

- Day Shift: 7:00 AM 7:00 PM
- Night Shift: 7:00 PM 7:00 AM
Credentialing:
- Emergency credentialing available
- Provider needed to begin coverage as early as July 20
Job Details & Responsibilities
Facility Overview:
- Annual ED volume: 13,800 visits
- Average daily census: patients
- 10 ED beds
- Level IV Trauma Center
- No Fast Track unit
- EMR: Epic
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Provide independent emergency medicine coverage
- Supervise an Advanced Practice Provider during overlapping hours (11:00 AM 11:00 PM)
- Respond to hospital codes as needed
- Interpret EKGs (final review completed by cardiology)
- Coordinate patient admissions with admitting physicians
Patient Flow & Support:
- 55% of hospital admissions originate from the ED
- 6.4% of ED patients are admitted
- Fewer than 7 patient transfers per 24-hour period

Required Skills & Qualifications
Required:
- Board Certification in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or AOBEM)
- Active, unrestricted Michigan medical license (IMLC and Compact licenses are not accepted)
- ACLS certification
- ATLS certification
- Ability to supervise Advanced Practice Providers
- Experience practicing in a community emergency department setting
- NPDB self-query completed within 30 days of presentation
- Availability dates for July/August must be submitted during name clear
