Job description

ATC West Healthcare is seeking a board-certified Gastroenterologist to provide inpatient GI coverage and call support at a Level III Trauma Center in Westminster, Colorado. This role focuses exclusively on acute inpatient and emergency department consults, with no outpatient responsibilities. Candidates must be proficient in ERCP and available for multi-day coverage blocks extending into 2027.

Daily Schedule
  • Monday Friday:
    • Onsite coverage: 7:00 AM 3:00 PM
    • Night call: 3:00 PM 7:00 AM
  • Saturday Sunday:
    • 24-hour call: 7:00 AM 7:00 AM
Average Callback Hours:
  • Weekdays: 1.12 hours
  • Weekends: 3.61 hours

Facility Information
  • Location: Westminster, Colorado
  • Setting: Inpatient, Emergency Department, and Call Coverage
  • Trauma Designation: Level III Trauma Center
  • Hospital Beds: 185
  • Patient Population: Adult and Geriatric
  • EMR: Epic
  • Coverage Need: Approximately 3 4 weeks of locum coverage per month
Clinical Responsibilities
  • Provide inpatient GI consultations for admitted and ED patients
  • Perform urgent and emergent GI procedures
  • Participate in overnight and weekend call coverage
  • No outpatient clinic responsibilities
Required Procedures
  • EGD
  • Colonoscopy
  • ERCP (required)
  • GI consultations for emergency and inpatient cases
Patient Volume
  • 2 3 patients per day requiring procedures
  • Approximately 2 3 ICU GI bleeding cases per week
Support Staff
  • Registered Nurses
  • X-ray Technicians
  • On-call anesthesia team
  • GI nursing team for urgent and emergent procedures
EMR Training Requirements Providers must complete all Epic onboarding requirements before starting:

  1. Submit credentialing pre-application and full application
  2. AD account creation (up to 5 days)
  3. Complete Epic learning modules
  4. Attend virtual Epic training
  5. Training must be completed at least one week prior to start date
Providers must also disclose:
  • Years of Epic experience
  • Last Epic usage date (MM/YYYY)
  • Last facility where Epic was used
  • Badge-quality photo
  • Time zone for training scheduling
  • Preferred phone number and email address
Required Skills & Qualifications

Required:
  • Board Certified in Gastroenterology
  • Active Colorado license or active IMLC Letter of Qualification at submission
  • Ability to perform ERCP (must be documented during presentation)
  • Clean malpractice and background history
  • NPDB self-query completed within 30 days of presentation
  • Ability to specify which October December coverage blocks can be worked
  • Ability to disclose monthly availability beginning January 2027
  • Acknowledgement of Epic training requirements and completion timeline
Highly Preferred:
  • Active DEA (required for credentialing; transferred DEA accepted if maintained throughout assignment)
Additional Notes:
  • Pre-application and full credentialing application must be submitted within 72 hours of receipt to avoid delays.
  • Candidates without an active Colorado license or active IMLC at submission will not be considered.
