Well-established law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its team in Westchester. This role offers exposure to a diverse range of matters including medical malpractice defense, general liability, insurance defense, construction-related claims, premises liability, and related litigation. Attorneys with 1-7 years of experience who thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and are eager to manage litigation through all phases are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Handle and assist with insurance defense, medical malpractice, and general liability cases from inception through resolution
- Draft pleadings, motions, legal correspondence, and reports
- Prepare and respond to discovery demands
- Conduct legal research and analysis
- Review and analyze medical records and case materials
- Attend court appearances, hearings, and conferences
- Take and defend depositions where applicable
- Communicate with clients, experts, and opposing counsel
- Assist with case strategy and overall case management
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
- Admission to practice law in New York
- 1-7 years of experience in insurance defense, medical malpractice, general liability, or related civil litigation
- Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with construction accidents, Labor Law, premises liability, Child Victim Act, and/or non-profit cases
- Deposition experience
