Job Summary
The Respiratory Therapist 3 (RRT) provides advanced cardiopulmonary care to patients across the WCHN network. Responsibilities include performing critical assessments, lab monitoring, oxygen therapy management, pharmacological interventions, bronchial hygiene, airway management, and ventilator care for adult, neonatal, and surgical patients. Key Responsibilities
Manage ventilator and rounding protocols; assist MDs in assessing cardiopulmonary status.
Reduce length of ventilator and ICU stays through proactive patient care.
Assess and treat hypoxia and bronchospasm with O therapy and bronchodilators.
Draw and analyze arterial blood gases; recommend therapy adjustments.
Perform non-invasive ventilation (BIPAP/CPAP) for patients across age groups.
Educate patients and families on disease management and post-discharge care.
Respond to trauma alerts, Code Green, Code 33, and Code Blue emergencies; stabilize patients.
Safely transport ventilator patients.
Document patient care, charges, and interventions per department standards.
Attend mandatory in-services and meetings; assist in orientation and training of new staff.
Maintain compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field. Bachelor's preferred.
Licensure/Certifications: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), CPR - Healthcare Provider, NBRC credentials. Open to CRT.
Experience: Minimum 1 year; ventilator management experience (Adults/NICU) preferred.
Working Conditions
Manual dexterity and coordination required.
Exposure to occupational hazards, including odors, noise, and patient care risks.
Physical effort includes lifting up to 50 lbs.
