REQUIRED PROCEDURES
  • Required:
    • ERCP (endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography) (Diagnostic, Therapeutic)
    • Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS)

    • Upper GI endoscopy (with biopsy, with foreign body removal, with fulguration of bleeder (cautery vs. laser), with injection of varices, with PEG (percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy
    • Esophageal dilatation/manometry
    • Esophageal manometry interpretation
    • Small Bowel biopsy
    • Lower GI endoscopy (Sigmoidoscopy (Flexible, Rigid), Colonoscopy (with biopsy, with excision of polyp
    • Liver biopsy
    • Insertion/management of Sengstaken/Blakemore tube

  • Board: Board Eligible required
  • Licenses: None required
  • Certifications: ACLS
  • Fellowship: Required
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide 24-hour call coverage for gastroenterology services
  • Perform advanced GI procedures including EGD, colonoscopy, ERCP, EUS, and flexible sigmoidoscopy
  • Manage inpatient and outpatient GI consultations and procedures
  • Round on assigned patients
  • Respond to call within 20 minutes
