Foster Display Group

Oceanside, California, United States

Job description

Job Description Job Description

Foster Display Group is one of the fastest-growing experiential agencies in the U.S., recently named to the Inc. 5000 Fastest Growing Companies in America list, as well as a Top 40 Exhibit Producer in the counter.

We are looking for experienced shop carpenters who truly enjoy building. We are a fast-paced trade show, exhibit, and custom fabrication company that builds high-quality booths, displays, and branded environments for clients across the country.

This is not a basic assembly job. We are looking for people who take pride in their work, can read drawings, work with their hands, solve problems, and enjoy being part of a team that builds custom projects from start to finish.

The right person is experienced, reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working overtime when the workload requires it. Our schedule can get busy around major shows and deadlines, so we need people who understand that OT is part of the business and are willing to jump in when needed.

Responsibilities include:

  • Building custom trade show exhibits, displays, cabinets, counters, walls, crates, and related components
  • Reading and understanding shop drawings, cut lists, and build instructions
  • Working with plywood, laminate, MDF, hardwood, acrylics, hardware, and other materials
  • Using standard shop tools and equipment safely and efficiently
  • Measuring, cutting, assembling, sanding, laminating, and finishing components
  • Helping troubleshoot builds and find practical solutions during fabrication
  • Working with the shop team to meet project deadlines
  • Keeping work areas clean, organized, and safe
  • Assisting with packing, crating, loading, and preparing projects for shipment when needed

Ideal candidates should have:

  • Prior carpentry, cabinetmaking, exhibit fabrication, millwork, or scenic fabrication experience
  • Strong measuring and layout skills
  • Ability to read shop drawings or willingness to improve in this area
  • Experience with common woodworking tools and shop equipment
  • Good attention to detail and pride in finished work
  • A team-first attitude
  • Reliability and a strong work ethic
  • Willingness to work overtime during busy periods
  • Ability to lift, carry, stand, bend, and work on your feet throughout the day

What we are looking for:

We want builders. People who like walking into a shop, looking at a set of drawings, and turning raw material into something real. People who care about the final product. People who are not afraid of a busy day, a deadline, or a challenge.

If you are experienced, take pride in your craft, and want to be part of a growing company with steady work, we would like to hear from you.

Compensation:

Pay is based on experience. Overtime is available and expected during busy production periods.

How to apply:

Please submit your resume or a brief summary of your work experience. Photos of past work are welcome but not required.
