Job description

Respected residential interior design firm in Sarasota, Florida needs a dynamo residential designer to join their collegial team! Following are details about this opportunity:

Lead in a prime interior design role throughout all phases of assigned projects, under Director of Design. (This role may be shared on large projects with a second Senior Interior Designer)
Engage in design kickoff and progress review check-ins with Director of Design at key progress points,
following through on design directives and feedback to develop and carry out a custom design to completion
Develop finish palettes and select FF&A appropriate to suit the unique concept, design directives, and criteria
provided for each project across a variety of styles
Participate in the drafting of interior construction documents for detailed, custom projects using AutoCAD
software
Maintain a high level of accuracy, quality, and artistry in design deliverables and construction documents
Oversee, and contribute to, the production of design presentation deliverables, including material trays, digital
collages, and presentation booklets to company standards
Interface by phone and e-mail with clients, contractors/builders, architects, and engineers as needed to provide
smooth coordination.
Visit project construction sites, vendor showrooms, and collaborator offices as needed
Collaborate with project team members both inside and outside the firm, including architects and contractors
Lead the review/redline process for shop drawings and samples to achieve consistency with design intent
Attend vendor representative presentations and meetings to develop and expand product knowledge
Other tasks and research as needed

Present designs to clients and develop successful, trusting client relationships through active listening and
strong communication
Inspire and encourage team members, helping to strengthen and develop project team
Manage workflow of self and reporting team members to ensure project milestones and deadlines are met
Strategically delegate tasks, with clear direction and feedback, to team members
Create positive, respectful interactions with other team members, both inside and outside the firm
Qualifications:
Minimum 7 years experience at a full-service interior design or architecture firm, specific to company project sectors
Minimum 4 years experience specific to the full-service interior design of new construction, luxury residences
Comprehensive professional experience in all stages of a construction-intensive interior design project
Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design
NCIDQ Certification preferred.
Sophisticated design aesthetic, strongly consistent with that of the firm
Capable of delivering high-quality, complete, designs consistent with company standards, in a prime design role
Knowledge of design and construction concepts/terminology common to luxury residences
Strong familiarity with sources and materials to select luxury residential furnishings and finishes
Proficient in: AutoCAD LT; Adobe InDesign
Working knowledge of: Adobe Photoshop
Working knowledge of Studio Designer a plus (will train)
Comfort working on Mac computer, in Apple operating system
Ability to receive direction and constructive feedback productively, and consistently implement in future work
Ability to work well with others, and work independently
Commitment to delivering outstanding design and thoughtful solutions for our clients

Polished and professional communication skills, both oral and written
Must have valid drivers license and reliable vehicle transportation
