We are seeking a Board-Certified Psychiatrist for an inpatient locum tenens opportunity at a well-established hospital in Grand Forks, ND. This role offers excellent compensation, a predictable schedule, and strong clinical support in a collaborative environment.
Position Overview
Join a dedicated behavioral health team providing inpatient psychiatric care in a 24-bed unit, including adolescent and adult populations. You ll also support ER and hospital consults, with occasional telemedicine use for coordination across departments.
Schedule & Coverage
- Start: Around August 1
- Ongoing assignment
- 7 days on / 7 days off rotation
- Shift: 7:00 AM 7:00 PM
- Call: 1 2 nights per 7-day block
Clinical Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive inpatient psychiatric evaluations and treatment
- Manage care for adult and adolescent patients (6 adolescent beds)
- Respond to ER consults and hospital consult requests
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including APPs, social work, and intake staff
- Utilize EPIC EMR for documentation and care coordination
- Participate in care planning, discharge coordination, and follow-up recommendations
Practice Environment
- 24-bed inpatient psychiatric unit
- Integrated with general hospital (walkable access)
- Support from 1 2 APPs, social workers, and care coordination teams
- Collaborative, team-based care model
- Mix of in-person and occasional telemedicine consults
Requirements
- Board Certified Psychiatrist
- Active medical license (or ability to obtain)
- Experience in inpatient psychiatry and acute care settings
- Comfortable treating all ages and a wide range of psychiatric conditions
- Proficiency with EPIC EMR
- Ability to work a 7-on/7-off schedule
