Availability / Assignment Details
- Coverage Window: Late October 2026 - July 2027
- Start Requirement: Candidates must be engaged by July 10, 2026 to support October 22, 2026 start
- Number of Providers Needed:
- 2 Day Shift Anesthesiologists
- 2-3 Night Shift Anesthesiologists
- Coverage Model: In-house anesthesia coverage (no call/callback)
- Looking for weekend coverage
Schedule Options
Weekday Day Shift
- Monday-Friday: 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Weekend Day Shift
- Friday-Monday: 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM (10-hour shifts)
- Must work 4 consecutive days
- Option to add Tuesday or Thursday shift
Weekend Night Shift
- 5:00 PM - 7:00 AM (14-hour in-house shifts)
- Max 4-night block options:
- Friday-Monday (consecutive nights)
- No call, no callback
Core Requirement
- Must be able to work 2 consecutive weeks per month including weekends (mandatory)
Clinical Environment / Volume
- Facility Type: Hospital (Level I Trauma Center)
- Surgical Volume: 60 cases/day
- Case Mix:
- 50% General Surgery
- 20% Complex Orthopedics
- 20% Complex Vascular (non-open heart)
- 10% Neurosurgery
- Operating Rooms: 22
- Provider Model:
- 55 anesthesiologists in group
- 30 CRNAs
- CRNA supervision required ( 40% of cases; up to 3 at a time)
- EMR: Epic
- Trauma Level: I
- Patient Population: Mostly adult (?80% adult / 20% trauma)
Required Skills / Procedures
- General anesthesia (adult & trauma)
- Spinal and epidural anesthesia
- Central line placement (required)
- Arterial line placement
- Regional anesthesia (including ultrasound-guided blocks)
- Acute pain management
- Ventilation management
- Hemodynamic instability management (BP/volume resuscitation)
- Minor nerve blocks
- IV regional anesthesia
- Obstetric anesthesia
- Pediatric anesthesia (must be comfortable with pediatrics)
- Neurosurgical anesthesia
- Complex vascular cases (non-open heart)
- Complex orthopedic cases
- CRNA supervision
Requirements
Board Certification
- Board Certified in Anesthesiology required (Board Eligible not accepted)
Licensure
- Active Colorado license preferred
- IMLC LOQ accepted
- Will consider candidates needing licensure
Trauma Experience
- Minimum 2 years post-residency Level I Trauma experience required
Certifications
- BLS required
- ACLS required
- PALS or APLS required
Additional Must-Have Requirements
- Must be able to perform central lines
- Must be comfortable with pediatric cases
- Must be able to perform open vascular procedures
- Must be willing to supervise CRNAs
- Must be available for weekend-inclusive block scheduling
