Electrician
Location: Rochester, New York
Pay Range: $27/hr to $34/hr based on experience.
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Electrician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in residential, commercial, or industrial settings. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of electrical systems and safety procedures, and be able to read technical diagrams and blueprints.
Key Responsibilities: - Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, systems, and fixtures.
- Ensure that work is in accordance with relevant codes (e.g., NEC).
- Inspect electrical components such as transformers and circuit breakers.
- Identify electrical problems using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes.
- Repair or replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures using hand tools and power tools.
- Follow state and local building regulations based on the National Electrical Code.
- Direct and train workers to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring or equipment.
- Work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures.
Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a recognized apprenticeship or vocational program.
- Valid electrician license (as required by state or local law).
- Proven experience as an electrician.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, tools, and equipment.
- Ability to read technical diagrams and blueprints.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Physical stamina and ability to work in confined spaces or at heights.
Preferred Skills: - Experience with commercial or industrial electrical systems.
- Familiarity with renewable energy systems (e.g., solar panels).
- Certification in specialized areas (e.g., low-voltage systems, fire alarms).
Working Conditions: - May require working in inclement weather or at heights.
- May be required to work nights, weekends, or on-call.
