We are seeking a skilled legal assistant with paralegal capabilities to support two litigation partners at our esteemed firm. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned professional with extensive experience in litigation, particularly in insurance, construction defects, commercial, premises, and general civil litigation. This role requires someone who is proactive, can work independently, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage Federal and State Court dockets, ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Assist in preparing appellate court briefs, including indexes, footnotes, and case citing.
  • Utilize electronic filing systems proficiently.
  • Prepare trial and hearing notebooks, and organize exhibits.
  • Draft pleadings and discovery documents, and respond to discovery requests.
  • Summarize depositions, medical records, and other pertinent documents.
  • Manage and organize complex litigation files.
  • Understand and adhere to insurance carrier guidelines and billing requirements.
  • Prepare reports for insurance carriers and clients.
  • Maintain calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate appointments.
  • Interact professionally with clients and third-party vendors.
  • Possess strong organizational skills and impeccable grammar.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; willingness to learn litigation management software.
  • Fluency in Spanish is a plus, though not required.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in litigation, with a focus on insurance, construction defect, commercial, premises, and general civil litigation.
  • Trial experience is essential.
  • Proficiency in electronic filing systems and litigation support tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
  • Trustworthy, reliable, and able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Must thrive in a collaborative team environment.
