We have serviced/service and provided/provide Western Pennsylvania including the tristate area with the absolute finest truck repair service for over 60 years.

Palko Truck and Trailer has an exciting opportunity and an immediate position available. We are in need of an experienced Diesel Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge diesel engines, vehicle systems, and the ability to perform preventative maintenance on a variety of on-highway diesel powered commercial freight.
Class A CDL
PA State Inspection License
Heavy Duty Wheel Alignment Certification
Welding

Key Responsibilities
Inspect and Diagnose
Perform thorough inspections of diesel engines, and related vehicle systems to identify issues using diagnostic tools and equipment.
Maintenance and Repair
Conduct preventative maintenance, repairs, on transmissions, air brake systems, electrical systems and other key components.
Fabrication
Welding
Documentation
Maintain accurate records of all supply and repairs, including parts used, core returns, work completed, and time spent.
Parts and Inventory
Assist in ordering and maintaining an inventory of parts, tools, and equipment necessary for repairs.
Customer Service
Communicate effectively with customers and team members to explain repairs needed, estimated costs, and timelines.
Troubleshooting
The ability to utilize problem solving skills for troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues to find suitable solutions that are both efficient and practical.
Qualifications
Experience
Minimum of two years working as a technician/ mechanic, however the desire and will to learn can supersede the two years requirement if you are an appropriate fit for our team.
Education
High-School Diploma or equivalent
Technical or vocational training in mechanics is an added plus
Certifications
ASCE (Automotive Service Excellence Certificate) in diesel engines or equivalent.
Heavy Duty Wheel Alignment Certificate is desired, however not mandatory
Skills
Proficiency skills using diagnostic tools and repair equipment such as: Caterpillar ET, Cummins Insight, NEDS (Navistar), Diagnostic Link, Bendix, and Wabco Diagnostic Tools.
Inner personal skills, willingness to share knowledge within your team at Palko Truck and Trailer
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift heavy objects, equipment tools, and etc.
Standing for extended periods of time
Able to work in various conditions (outdoor and all weather)
Driver Licenses
Valid Driver License and clean driving record
Class A CDL is desired
PA State Inspection License (if candidate is lacking licenses mentioned above our company may be willing to pay/provide them.
