A health services organization in Missouri is actively seeking a new Inpatient Psychiatrist to provide adult inpatient mental health care at their St. Louis-based facility. This role offers a clinically focused setting with a balanced schedule and the opportunity to provide evaluation and treatment for patients with acute psychiatric needs.
About the Opportunity:
- Shift: Day shift
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, with 1 weekend per month
- Hours: 8am to 4:30pm
- Setting: Inpatient Adult Mental Health
Responsibilities:
- Provide psychiatric evaluation and treatment for adult inpatients with acute mental health needs
- Conduct 24-hour evaluations and assess patients presenting with psychiatric, behavioral, or addictive disorders
- Perform psychological and psycho-educational testing as needed
- Deliver electroconvulsive therapy when indicated
- Manage assigned patients and support care within an acute psychiatric unit
Qualifications:
- Active Missouri physician license or IMLC
- Board certified in Psychiatry or board eligible with certification obtained within 5 years of residency
- BLS certification
- Experience in an acute psychiatric unit or institute
- Experience working with Epic EMR
Desired Skills:
- Familiarity with involuntary commitments, seclusion therapy, and restraint application
- Experience treating adult patients with anxiety disorders, affective disorders, ADHD, personality disorders, eating disorders, developmental disorders, psychotic disorders, and organic disorders
