Provide weekend call coverage within an established cardiothoracic surgery program featuring manageable case volume and recurring coverage opportunities throughout the year.
Practice & Cases
- Inpatient adult cardiothoracic surgery setting
- Full scope cardiothoracic and cardiovascular surgery coverage
- Mix of operative cases and consultative call responsibilities
- Includes open-heart surgery, pacemaker procedures, and cardiovascular surgical care
Schedule
- 1-2 weekends per month
- Typical coverage runs from Friday evening through Monday morning
- Additional holiday and vacation coverage opportunities available
- Call coverage limited to assigned weekends
Requirements
- Must be an MD or DO
- Active Iowa license required or open to Interstate Medical Licensure Compact physicians
- Board Certified in Cardiothoracic Surgery
- ACLS, BLS, and DEA required

- Airfare, lodging, rental car, and mileage are covered
- Travel arrangements coordinated before each assignment
