Emergency Medicine Physician LOCUMS Hanover, PA
A facility in Hanover is seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine Physician for ongoing night shift coverage beginning June 15, 2026. This is a high-quality ED opportunity with strong specialty support, excellent nursing coverage, and travel provided.
Assignment Highlights
- Start Date: 6/15/2026
- Estimated 15 shifts per month
- FTE night coverage needed
- 5 days on / 5 days off schedule
- Shift hours: 10p 7a
- 9-hour shifts with 1-hour overlap for transition
- Minimum availability to be considered: 2 3 shifts per week

Facility & Practice Details
- Annual ED volume: 31,000
- Average night census: 1 2 patient arrivals per hour
- 1 physician per shift
- 1 2 APPs per shift until 4a
- Physician works independently from 4a 7a
- Fully staffed nursing support
- No residents
- No trauma center
- Candidate will NOT work solo overall

- Pediatric observation unit available
- Tele-Stroke available
- ENT, Ophthalmology, General Surgery, and Cath Lab support available
Typical Procedures
Providers should be comfortable performing:
- Moderate sedation
- Central lines
- Bedside ultrasound
- Nasotracheal intubation
- Thoracentesis
- Chest tube placement
- Rapid sequence intubation
- Minor laceration repairs
- Splinting
- Additional emergency procedures as needed
Requirements
- ONLY ABEM and/or AOBEM Board Certified or Board Eligible candidates will be considered
- Active Pennsylvania license required
- PA DEA required
- ACLS, ATLS, and PALS required
- Minimum 5 years experience required
- Will NOT consider IMLC candidates
Additional Experience Requirement
Providers must either:
- Be BC/BE Emergency Medicine trained, or
- Have at least 5 years full-time Emergency Medicine experience (minimum 4,000 hours) in an ED with annual volume of at least 15,000 patients
In addition, candidates must demonstrate:
- Evaluation and treatment of at least 1,000 ED cases within the last 2 years
