We are seeking a Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) Physician for an ongoing locum tenens opportunity in an inpatient rehabilitation setting located in North Carolina.
This position offers a consistent weekday schedule, collaborative interdisciplinary care, and the opportunity to work with a diverse neurologic rehabilitation patient population.
Assignment Details

- Schedule: Monday Friday, 7:00 AM 3:30 PM
- Setting: Inpatient Rehabilitation
- EMR: Epic
Clinical Responsibilities
- Manage assigned patients within a 33-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit
- Provide medical management and oversight for patients with neurologic rehabilitation needs, including stroke and traumatic brain injury (TBI)
- Lead interdisciplinary team conferences
- Collaborate closely with rehabilitation specialists and care teams
- Supervise 3 4 Advanced Practice Providers
- Participate in an established consultation service supporting patients
- Complete admissions as needed
- No outpatient responsibilities
Call Coverage
- Second-call / backup call responsibilities
- Minimal call volume
- Average of 0 1 phone consults, patient evaluations, or admissions per 24-hour call period
Qualifications
- BC/BE Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Physician
- Active North Carolina medical license required
- Fellowship training required
- BLS certification required
- Experience managing inpatient rehabilitation patients with neurologic diagnoses such as stroke and TBI
- Experience leading interdisciplinary care teams and supervising APPs
Practice Environment
- Inpatient rehabilitation hospital connected to a major acute care hospital
- Stroke-certified facility
- Level II Trauma Center

- Average daily patient volume of approximately 30 patients
Ideal Candidate
The ideal provider will have strong inpatient rehabilitation experience, particularly in neurologic rehabilitation, and be comfortable leading team conferences, supervising APPs, and working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary care model.
