Opportunity:
Physician - Hematology/Oncology
Job Details:
- Full-time coverage needed with 5 clinic days per week
- 8-hour clinic shifts, day schedule, ongoing assignment with minimum 6-month commitment
- Clinic starts at 8:00 AM with first patient scheduled at 8:15/8:30 AM and last patient at 3:30 PM, with a 30-minute lunch included
- Average of 15 patients per day with an established patient panel already in place
- Patient mix is 60% Hematology and 40% Oncology, serving an adult rural community population
- Provider expected to see solid tumor oncology, benign hematology, and malignant hematology cases
- Weekend call coverage: 2 weekends per month; night call: 10 days per month; call rotation 1:2
- Weeknight call hours: 4:15 PM 8:00 AM; typically 2 3 patient calls between 5:00 PM and 9:00 PM; rarely receive calls after 9:00 PM
- Weekend call includes 24-hour coverage with 2 hours gratis rounding on Saturday and Sunday
- Consulting service only; hospitalists manage admissions; covers ER and hospital team
- 14-chair infusion center onsite with a 2-bed infusion room and oncology-certified nursing staff
- Radiation Oncology located onsite
- Bone marrow biopsies, lumbar punctures, port access, and BMT consults/care are not required
- EMR: EPIC
- Support structure includes 1.3 Hem/Onc physicians onsite, 3 APPs, onsite pharmacist support, and participation in disease-specific and general tumor boards
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hematology/Oncology required
- DEA required; minimum 1 year of experience required; PA license or IMLC only
