Critical Care/Trauma Physician

Location: Massachusetts Schedule

• Weekday Shifts: 7:00 AM 4:00 PM

• Weekday Call: 4:00 PM 7:00 AM

• Weekend Call: 6:00 AM 7:00 AM

Clinical Volume & Responsibilities

• Trauma Inpatients:

• Daytime Coverage: 2 attending physicians on service

Trauma Activations

• activations per 24-hour period

• % blunt trauma

Emergency General Surgery (EGS) Coverage

• Some call shifts include EGS coverage

• EGS Consults: 0 8 per shift

• Operative Cases: 0 3 per shift

• Emergencies only (e.g., perforated viscus)

Support Structure

• APP Coverage:

  • 2 APPs during the day

  • 1 APP overnight

• Residents: PGY-3 or PGY-4

• Interns:

  • 2 during the day

  • 1 overnight

Systems

• EMR: Epic

Licensure & Requirements

• MA License: Preferred; candidates without MA license will be considered

• Fellowship: Surgical Critical Care

• DEA: Required

• CSR: Required

Assignment Details

• Length of Assignment: 3+ months

• Travel: Paid
