Description Seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Anesthesiologist for a locum tenens assignment running mid-June through the end of September 2026, with potential for extension. The provider will serve as the primary anesthesiologist covering a high-volume surgical service line focused on bread-and-butter cases with obstetrics call requirements. This is a full OR-based role requiring strong clinical independence, regional anesthesia skills, and willingness to participate in call coverage.
About the Facility This is a mid-sized, collaborative acute care hospital setting with a modern OR suite and established anesthesia group support. The surgical environment is active and diverse, supporting general surgical services, orthopedic cases, OB/GYN, urology, ENT, vascular, colorectal, plastics, and GI procedures. The site includes a Level III trauma designation and an active labor and delivery service with hundreds of annual deliveries. Providers work alongside anesthesiologists, CRNAs, OR staff, and surgical teams in a team-oriented environment with Epic EMR.

Job Responsibilities - Provide primary anesthesia care for OR and labor & delivery cases
- Manage bread-and-butter surgical cases including ortho, general surgery, OB/GYN, urology, ENT, vascular, plastics, colorectal, and GI
- Provide obstetric anesthesia coverage including call responsibilities
- Perform regional anesthesia techniques for surgical cases
- Participate in weekday OR coverage (7:00 AM 3:30 PM)
- Take in-house or in-house-equivalent call with requirement to remain within 15 minutes of facility
- Collaborate with surgeons, CRNAs, and OR staff in a multidisciplinary environment
- No clinic responsibilities; 100% OR and L&D coverage
Qualifications - Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology
- Clean professional background (no significant malpractice history or concerning employment gaps)
- Eligible for temporary privileges (preferred for clean files)
- ACLS certification required
- MMR immunization required
- Comfortable working in a high-volume surgical and obstetric environment
- Ability to independently manage OR anesthesia cases and OB call coverage
Working Hours - Monday Friday, 7:00 AM 3:30 PM
- Required call coverage including OB call
- Must remain within 15-minute response radius while on call
- Schedule typically structured as 2 consecutive weeks per month with additional coverage as needed
- Assignment runs June 15, 2026 September 30, 2026 (with possible extension)
Skills - General and orthopedic anesthesia expertise
